What is Unilicense?

Protecting your computers, laptops and smartphones across all platforms has never been more convenient. No longer you need to order individual licenses for all individual types of devices and operating systems you own - the unique ESET Unilicense system gets you up and running quickly.

Unilicense is a unique licensing system that allows you to mix and match the computer protection for systems running Windows, Mac, and Linux. Similarly, a single license allows you to choose which mobile operating system to protect − Android, Windows Mobile, or Symbian. For more details, see the information below.

1 License covering 3 Operating Systems

One computer, three Operating Systems
ESET Unilicense allows to secure 3 individual operating systems (OS) running on a single computer, using only one license. A typical example would be installing an ESET security product on the primary operating system, plus protecting 2 additional operating systems running in the virtual environment (Virtual Machine, Boot Camp).

Switch to a Different Platform
ESET Unilicense also lets you switch the protection to a different platform without having to purchase additional licenses. Suppose your computer is running Windows OS and you decide to switch to Linux. With a valid ESET license, you can download and install ESET NOD32 Antivirus for Linux Desktop on the new operating system, using the same license credentials that were supplied upon the purchase of your license.

Transfer to a New Computer
In addition, you are entitled to transfer your valid ESET license to a completely new computer, provided you cease using your old one. The transfer includes switching from one OS to another as well.

The basic formula is:
1 computer with 1, 2 or 3 operating systems = 1 license

Examples:

1 computer running Windows as main OS and Linux in virtual environment = 1 license needed to cover both operating systems
1 computer running Mac OS as main OS with Windows via Boot Camp = 1 license needed to cover both operating systems
1 computer running Windows as main OS with an additional Windows OS and Linux OS in a virtual environment = 1 license needed to cover all operating systems
